In addition to being bothersome and uncomfortable, having your neck in this position all day can become rather tiring after a long day at the track.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter doing some research with contacts in the industry, AQM discovered that due to new DOT regulations OE seats are now required to have a minimum distance between your head and the headrest. Vehicle manufacturers get around this and maintain comfort by making the headrest adjustable. The AQM pivot arm changes the axis of that pivot and causes the seat to angle back further, raising the front of the seat up about 1.5 inches more and tilting the top of the seat back another 2 inches. You are still able to mount the seat normally without any modifications to the bolts or putting spacers in that could cause any potential change in structural safety. There is no change to any of the seat functions. AQM Seat Angle Adjusters are made from high-tensile steel with a black E-Coat to ensure durability of the material and finish. Expect about an hour installation time per seat which can be completed by a mechanically savvy individual. Every time a new car is released from Porsche, the PSE programming becomes more and more invasive in controlling the sound level of the car. Now more than ever the most inexpensive mod on sound you can perform on a GT car is eliminating the factory valves and\/or overriding the valve control. A muffler proved to be the most effective way to reduce the drone level under 3k rpm enough to meet our goals for reduced cabin presence for an exciting touring level of sound. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWith valves open, exhaust is free to flow through 3” piping and an x-pipe that merges the exhaust flow for a higher pitched, smooth sound with maximum flow characteristics. With valves closed the exhaust is routed through secondary flow path piping and a bespoke SOUL muffler. The internal design has little to no restriction in the flow path, using straight-through perforated piping to allow exhaust gasses to escape and become muffled in the surrounding packing material of the muffler body. The muffler also incorporates an internal x-pipe to allow the exhaust flow to merge smoothly. All of these characteristics are crucial towards reducing and smoothing out the drone in the sub 3,000rpm range while enhancing the higher pitched note we were after in both the valves closed and open conditions.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe catted\/catless sections are interchangeable. You can reduce the chance of CELs with 200cell cats and tone down the exhaust if need be, or you can run the catless section to amp up the fun and performance on track. With valves closed the exhaust is routed through secondary flow path piping and our unique muffler. The internal design has little to no restriction in the flow path, using straight-through perforated piping to allow exhaust gasses to escape and become muffled in the surrounding packing material of the muffler body. The muffler also incorporates an internal x-pipe to allow the exhaust flow to merge smoothly. All of these characteristics are crucial towards reducing and smoothing out the drone in the sub 3,000rpm range while enhancing the higher pitched note we were after under all conditions.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIn addition to the bespoke muffler design, there are several other unique characteristics we’ve brought into play on this system which revolve around the secondary flow path entering the muffler. The key thing to note here is that the valves open flow path is not limited to the external x-pipe flow path as some of the exhaust flow is still going through the secondary flow path even when the valves are open. This design is essentially utilizing the entire secondary flow path through the muffler to smooth out the tone and drone in valves open mode as well. Utilizing this secondary flow path for cruising cabin presence, we were able to go aggressive on the design of the primary valves open flow path to maximize the sound improvement without incorporating additional resonators or mufflers. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWe also utilize a tip plate (same style as used on 991 GT3’s) allowing one to switch between tip assemblies\/styles.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eVALVES\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe exhaust valves on this car have electronic actuators mounted to a free moving mechanical valve body. Factory exhaust valve programming has the valves closed until 4k rpm, then gradually opening from 4k-5k rpm at which point they are then fully open.
