You’re left having to look up slightly to have proper visibility out the front of the car. In addition to being bothersome and uncomfortable, having your neck in this position all day can become rather tiring after a long day at the track.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter doing some research with contacts in the industry, AQM discovered that due to new DOT regulations OE seats are now required to have a minimum distance between your head and the headrest. Vehicle manufacturers get around this and maintain comfort by making the headrest adjustable. Unfortunately with non-adjustable headrests like on the new LWBS, the comfort issue arises and this had led to many complaints.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cb\u003eThe Solution\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter testing a multitude of different options, AQM settled on a design for a precisely engineered longer \/ angled pivot arm. The pivot arm is what the seat rotates on that increases and decreases the height of the seat when you push the button to raise or lower it. The AQM pivot arm changes the axis of that pivot and causes the seat to angle back further, raising the front of the seat up about 1.5 inches more and tilting the top of the seat back another 2 inches. You are still able to mount the seat normally without any modifications to the bolts or putting spacers in that could cause any potential change in structural safety. There is no change to any of the seat functions. AQM Seat Angle Adjusters are made from high-tensile steel with a black E-Coat to ensure durability of the material and finish. Expect about an hour installation time per seat which can be completed by a mechanically savvy individual. Just make sure there is no power on in the car so you don’t trigger the air bag lights when you unplug the seats for removal.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe results have been nothing short of spectacular, with hundreds sold just through initial word of mouth. Not only is visibility and head room now right where it needs to be (even when wearing a helmet and HANS), the angle of the seat is much more supportive and comfortable and full electronic height adjustability is still maintained. They have also proven very popular in the passenger seat as your significant other really appreciates the additional comfort on those long drives. We recommend installing them in both the driver and passenger seats. Factory alignment adjustments on most Porsches are limited to approximately 1.0-1.5 degrees of negative camber, while most track cars (depending on the amount of street use and tire compound) require at least double that to maximize handling and tire life.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is important to realize that individual goals change from build to build, especially as a car becomes more and more track dedicated. However, as you increase rear camber you begin running out of thread engagement on the rear toe links and this becomes the limiting factory on rear camber. Regardless of whether the brakes are factory Steel or PCCB calipers, there are factory ceramic pucks screwed to the face of the pistons that serve as a thermal barrier between the pads and the pistons, lessening the heat transfer to the fluid. Due to the intense heat and heat cycles from hard\/extended braking, the ceramic pucks are becoming brittle and disintegrating. Early signs of this are cracking or chipping. Broken or lack of ceramic puck material may cause reduced braking effect and additional heat transfer through the pistons and into the fluid. Unfortunately replacement ceramic pucks are not available, Porsche only offers complete replacement calipers. They will only replace the calipers under warranty if the car is running OE pads and rotors. Even if replacement calipers are installed, the issue will ultimately happen again.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAQM Titanium Pucks offer similar thermal qualities to ceramic pucks but will not fail under repeated heat cycling. Titanium alloy proved to be the best solution, and although expensive it maintains a thermal barrier as compared to stainless steel which allows heat transfer to the fluid.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAQM have installed them on numerous GT4’s and GT3’s with no noticeable change in brake feel or fluid temperature.
