We chose appropriately sized catalysts to flow enough power for sustained high RPM use – where the GT4 is at home. Don’t settle for smaller, cheaper catalysts when power and durability is concerned. This cost-cutting method creates turbulence and hurts performance. By incorporating a smooth, cast X-pipe into the rear section this allows for a more efficient flow path from the exhaust gases. A small increase in gas mileage during cruising and more power when accelerating aggressively should be expected. The casting of the interior is also smooth, without any protrusions from welds. A proper back purged weld with full penetration will most likely have some material on the backside in the X. Non-cast designs can and have failed at this point due to stress and possibly lack of proper welding techniques. We’ve made a very conscious decision to offer the most durable X solution possible with our customers in mind. Vehicle manufacturers get around this and maintain comfort by making the headrest adjustable. The pivot arm is what the seat rotates on that increases and decreases the height of the seat when you push the button to raise or lower it. The AQM pivot arm changes the axis of that pivot and causes the seat to angle back further, raising the front of the seat up about 1.5 inches more and tilting the top of the seat back another 2 inches. You are still able to mount the seat normally without any modifications to the bolts or putting spacers in that could cause any potential change in structural safety. There is no change to any of the seat functions. AQM Seat Angle Adjusters are made from high-tensile steel with a black E-Coat to ensure durability of the material and finish. Expect about an hour installation time per seat which can be completed by a mechanically savvy individual. These Breakaway Camber Plates allow for increased camber while also preventing the dreaded strut tower failure. In order to understand the function of the Breakaway Camber Plate, lets first examine why GT cars are prone to strut tower failure:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePorsche strut towers are made of die cast aluminum. This material is very strong, rigid, and lightweight, but possesses very little ductility and does not typically bend under severe impacts.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePorsche GT cars are lower than Carrera models, and therefore have reduced suspension travel. Reduced suspension travel increases the likelihood of the suspension bottoming out, and experiencing severe impact.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePorsche GT cars have solid spherical bearing camber plates from the factory. These solid spherical bearings do not have any bushings to dampen impacts, so all strut loads are transferred directly to the shock towers.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMore importantly, the OEM GT camber plates are extremely robust. In the event of a massive impact such as a pothole, the OEM camber plate does not bend or crack, it is MUCH stronger than the strut towers. Bottom line is that the strut towers become sacrificial, rather than a replaceable part!\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRR Racing’s Patent Pending Breakaway Camber Plate significantly reduces the chances of strut tower failure by making the camber plate sacrificial, not the chassis of your Porsche! Under normal operating conditions, the camber plate offers a direct solid connection between the struts and the strut towers, as you would expect from a track oriented GT product. However, unlike any other product on the market, RR Racing camber plates essentially sacrifice themselves in case of an impact, allowing the integrated elastomer bushing to absorb the impact and protect the strut towers. The root cause of the problem are the massive impact loads associated with bottoming out of the suspension, and the inability of the stock camber plate or strut tower to absorb the impact and deflect. Factory alignment adjustments on most Porsches are limited to approximately 1.0-1.5 degrees of negative camber, while most track cars (depending on the amount of street use and tire compound) require at least double that to maximize handling and tire life.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is important to realize that individual goals change from build to build, especially as a car becomes more and more track dedicated. Regardless of whether the brakes are factory Steel or PCCB calipers, there are factory ceramic pucks screwed to the face of the pistons that serve as a thermal barrier between the pads and the pistons, lessening the heat transfer to the fluid. Due to the intense heat and heat cycles from hard\/extended braking, the ceramic pucks are becoming brittle and disintegrating. Early signs of this are cracking or chipping. Broken or lack of ceramic puck material may cause reduced braking effect and additional heat transfer through the pistons and into the fluid. Unfortunately replacement ceramic pucks are not available, Porsche only offers complete replacement calipers. They will only replace the calipers under warranty if the car is running OE pads and rotors. Even if replacement calipers are installed, the issue will ultimately happen again.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAQM Titanium Pucks offer similar thermal qualities to ceramic pucks but will not fail under repeated heat cycling. Titanium alloy proved to be the best solution, and although expensive it maintains a thermal barrier as compared to stainless steel which allows heat transfer to the fluid.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAQM have installed them on numerous GT4’s and GT3’s with no noticeable change in brake feel or fluid temperature.
